Upon his Uncle Fernando¡¯s death, Octavio returns to his hometown to attend the funeral of the man who was once like a father to him. The young and lovely Ana Cristina, who was adopted by Don Fernando as a baby, grew up believing he was her grandfather. At the reading of the will, Octavio learns that his uncle has left him his entire wealthy estate... only if he marries Ana Cristina. Marcial, the greedy and conniving administrator of Don Fernando¡¯s shoe factory, poisons Octavio¡¯s mind against Ana Cristina, convincing him that she used her youth and beauty to seduce Don Fernando to get money from him. Frida, Octavio¡¯s former fianc§Ûe, is cold, calculating and greedy. With her new lover, Marcial, she convinces Octavio to marry Ana Cristina and then plots to seduce him, supplant his wife, and get her hands on his newfound wealth. What they hadn¡¯t anticipated, however, is the passionate love-hate relationship that would consume both Ana Cristina and Octavio.
